Introduction
Women have a God-gifted ability to multitask and have always been better at multitasking. In their evolving roles in lives as daughter, wife, mother and so on, they manage all in a balanced manner. In the process, they become patient and efficient. When they decided to step out of their house for work, these natural skills helped them excel. Many companies prefer Women candidates due to their ability to work in an efficient manner.
From homemaker to efficient work-force and now, Women entrepreneurs and their increasing presence in India have significantly influenced the country’s economic and social demographics. This transformation in India's startup landscape highlights the resilience and determination of women who are reshaping the narrative of entrepreneurship in the country. Today, women own 20.37% of MSMEs, contributing 23.3% to the work-force. Their impact is significantly evident in industries like electronics manufacturing, where women make up over 50% of employees, showcasing their precision, efficiency, and adaptability.
Women entrepreneurs are proving that resilience, creativity, and leadership can break barriers. More than just contributing to financial success, they are pioneering social change, tackling issues like gender inequality, financial independence, and sustainable development.

Stories of Resilience and Innovation
The story of female entrepreneurship is one of persistence, motivation, and an unwavering drive for equality. One of the most inspiring figures in this movement is Elaben Bhatt, the visionary behind SEWA (Self-Employed Women’s Association), founded in 1972. It is one of the largest cooperatives working for women, with over 2 million members from around 18 states in India and neighbouring nations, helping informal workers gain financial independence, skill development, and social security. Rooted in Gandhian principles, SEWA has played a crucial role in transforming lives, proving that collective strength leads to lasting change.
Overcoming Challenges and Strategies for Success
Women entrepreneurs continue to face consequential challenges in funding, market access, and institutional biases. The startup ecosystem, for instance, saw a 34.58% decline in deal volume in 2023, making it even harder for women-led ventures to secure investment.
Yet, the key to overcoming these obstructions lies in confidence, resilience, and soundness. Women must trust in their abilities, view setbacks as stepping stones, and embrace diversity to drive innovation. The success of women entrepreneurs is not just measured in profits but in the positive impact they create in society.

Conclusion
This year’s Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action”, is a powerful reminder that while we celebrate progress, there is still more to do. Despite financial hindrance, gender biases, and systemic hurdles, they should continue to push forward, reshape industries, and drive meaningful change. With the right support, policies, and opportunities and by leveraging the inherent strengths and adopting strategic approaches, women entrepreneurs can continue to break barriers and drive meaningfully.
