The Taliban sweeping to power in Afghanistan has thrust one of the world's poorest countries back into the limelight , but now the hefty task lies to them managing a fragile and dependent economy . The country faces an economic cataclysm as world powers and international financial institutions move to withhold or freeze billions of dollars in assets and aid from a government run by a pariah movement. Afghans are selling everything they own to buy food as the economy under Taliban rule worsens, And clearly we all can agree to the fact that while the innocent people , women , children are suffering the economy of afghan is suffering too.

Economic crisis looms for Afghanistan under Taliban rule , but do you think that it is affecting India's economy too?
- [1] Taliban regaining control of Afghanistan has threatened the country’s trade with India . India’s main export agency said that the Taliban has stopped all imports and exports with India and blocked two way terminals for land trade on the Pakistan and Afghan border.
- [2] Bilateral trade between India and Afghanistan stood at USD 1.4 billion in 2020-21 as against USD 1.52 billion in 2019-20. Exports from India were USD 826 million, and imports were aggregated at USD 510 million in 2020-21, according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a premier organisation of eight crore traders across India.
- [3] The deteriorating political situation in Afghanistan in the wake of the Taliban’s takeover has led to a spike in prices of dry fruits sold in India ahead of the festive season. Traders are in a lurch, not knowing when the supply will be restored.
- [4 ] In terms of investments, since 2001, India has invested around $3 billion (Rs224 crore) in Afghanistan’s infrastructure, which includes over 400 projects across all provinces in the country. These projects are largely around infrastructure, human resource development and capacity building, humanitarian assistance, community development, and enhancing trade through air and land connectivity.
The city has faded away,”. “People are hopeless.” So is the economy of the country and it is affecting some of the other countries' economies too.
